A group of local men shaved their heads for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. According to J.O. Kelly “I think there were over 400 people getting their heads shaved at the event, which was at Helen Fitzgerald’s in St. Louis. The Gillespie crew was lead by Joe Profaizer, and relative of Michael Marcacci.” Currently Michael is in treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The group’s original goal was to raise $2,000, but as more and more people found out about the cause and the event the money grew and grew. They ended up making a donation of a little over $8,000.
Kelly went on to say that “by the midway point of the event the total tally had already reached $225,000. Johnny, Klayton, Tyler, Josh, and myself are proud to have been a part of the event, and we would like to thank everyone that donated to the cause. We are hopeful that the funds raised will be helpful to finally find a cure for this dreaded disease.”

Very admirable for these young men. J.O. didn’t mention that his sister also participated in the Edwradsville one. Quite a commitment for a woman. Great job everyone.
