With the exceptional weather, over 100 people joined the fun on Saturday evening, November 4, to support the Gillespie High School Construction Trades Class and Skillbuilder’s Club. The top finishers in the event were Brandon Slone and Rachelle Boeck.
A combined effort among Ageless, event sponsors and the participants led to the event’s success that raised $2,040 for the Gillespie’s Skillbuilder’s Club taught by Mark Goldasich. Participants started off from Ageless-Gillespie promptly at 5:30 p.m. Runners and walkers alike enjoyed the smooth, easy course as temperatures dropped in the 50’s and the sun was disappearing as participants crossed the finish line.
“Our race was a huge success,” Ageless posted on their social media page. “We want to send a big thank you to all of our runners, volunteers, and sponsors including the kids from FFA, MPACT’D and the Gillespie Police Department. Our theme for this year at Ageless has been ‘Be The Change’ and Mr. Goldasich and his class are great examples of exactly what we mean by that – those that lead by example, and in turn, make the world a better place. In a world filled with armchair quarterbacks and opinions, we forget that the world is changed by the doers.”
Goldasich and the Construction Trades class extended a big thank-you to Ageless and TJ and Amber Allan for raising $2,040 for the class.
“Your generosity will be paid forward,” Goldasich posted from the high school’s construction trades social media page. “My guys had a great time preparing and competing in this race. My colleagues brought their families to run and support our students. The FFA and MPACT’D members worked water and candy stations as well as directed traffic. Local, County and State Law Enforcement Officers ran with us. We provided them thin blue line flags as a token of our appreciation for all they do. This doesn’t happen without people like TJ and Amber giving back to our community. Thank you for using your skills to build a stronger 亚洲真人娱乐视讯hometown…our 亚洲真人娱乐视讯hometown.”
Efforts are already underway to plan next year’s event at Ageless that will be held in November 2018.
